It is not Just About Suits – It is also about Looking Good!
As Barney Stinson once said, "Whatever you do in life, it's not legendary unless you are doing it in a suit." But what makes the suit legendary? Is it the fabric or the color? Well, it is more about how you want to feel. Here at Wayne Edwards Workshop, we have re-calibrated various ways to wear a suit depending on the purpose the suit serves.
A suit is always a good choice in a conventional setting. That doesn't mean you cannot blend it with your sportswear. Try wearing the suit with a pair of sneakers, or better yet, a pair of boots. Put on a relaxed shirt or sweater and combine that with some softer suit fabric, and Voila! You've got a perfect classy yet casual sportswear look.
It's not the same, but it's even better.
Just like everything else, suits also have witnessed some changes. Modern suits are much comfier to wear and certainly make their predecessors proud. Wondering how? Here's what we have done with our suits.
1- The structure and fabric
We've softened up the suit's structure so it doesn't feel as stiff as before. Furthermore, many fabrics come with a bit of stretch woven into them, thus enhancing the comfort level.
2- The weight of the suit
Everything is getting warmer. Winters aren't as cold as before, and summers are breaking all the records. Our fabric houses are now making fabrics that still have great loftiness and texture to them but are at the same weight as a year-round fabric.
3- The Silhouette
We use a lighter-weight canvas to give your suit a sportswear feel. The shoulder, the body, and the lapel are a bit softer. Some industry leaders believe the newer suits have a forward-looking feel to them. Here at Wayne Edwards Workshop, we see it as a way to stimulate the newer suit wearer as well as the "suit dog" that has been wearing a suit for decades.
4- Tailoring
When it comes to tailoring, the final product should feel comfortable. It has to be loose and cannot be too fitted while hitting all the key spots with regard to fitting. The collar must sit properly, the chest can't be sloppy, and the sleeves at the correct length. A newer suit, a sports jacket, and pants must fulfill these checklists.
